Ask a buyer which suppliers are their best, and they'll give you an answer based on feel. "We've always worked with them." "They're reliable." But can they quantify it?

Supplier performance has quantifiable dimensions: on-time delivery rate, fill rate, quality return rate, lead time consistency, and price competitiveness. Most of this data already exists in your systems — it's just never aggregated.

An AI agent can pull delivery data from your ERP, returns data from your POS, and price benchmarks from the market — then produce a scored ranking of every supplier, updated weekly.

The results are often surprising. The "reliable" supplier might have a 94% on-time rate, while the "problematic" one is actually at 97% — the perception was anchored to one bad experience two years ago.
